Minute by Minute
What makes most first-time visitors nervous is not faith — it is not knowing what is about to happen. So here is the honest running order, from parking the car to walking back out.
Minutes 0—10
Come about ten minutes early so you can park and find a seat without rushing. A greeter at the entrance will say hello and point you to the sanctuary. There is no form to fill in and no sign-in desk.
Minutes 10—30
The service opens with a call to worship and a few songs. The words are displayed so they are easy to follow. If you would rather stay quiet and just listen, that is completely fine.
Minutes 30—40
We pray together and read the passage the sermon will cover. If you did not bring a Bible, no problem — the text is read aloud and shown on screen.
Minutes 40—75
Pastor Tyas Affandi or another preacher works through one passage of Scripture expositionally: what it says, what it means, and what it has to do with life this week. No pressure, no appeals for money.
Minutes 75—90
We close with prayer, a final song, and a blessing. Start to finish, the service runs about 90 minutes.
Afterwards
Some people stay to talk outside the sanctuary. If you would like a conversation, we would love that. If you would rather head straight home, that is genuinely fine — nobody will follow you to the car park.
All three services carry the same sermon, so simply pick the hour that suits your morning. You can read the full order of service on our Sunday service page.
Honest Questions
These are the questions that reach our WhatsApp most often. The answers are short and there is no fine print.
Smart casual. Shirts and skirts, t-shirts and jeans, batik — all of it turns up on a normal Sunday. We have no formal dress code, and nobody is going to size you up by your clothes.
No. You will not be asked to stand, come forward, or speak in front of the congregation. Sit wherever you feel comfortable, including the back row nearest the door.
No. The offering is the congregation’s response to God, not the cost of coming in. As a guest, nothing is expected of you. Just pass the bag along.
Please do. Children are welcome to sit with you for the entire service, and their noise is a normal part of church life. If your child would prefer their own class, Sunday School runs at 09:30.
No. Plenty of people come for the first time out of curiosity, because a friend invited them, or because they are looking for answers. You are welcome exactly as you are, with no conditions up front.
Many people do, and it is completely normal. If you would like someone to meet you at the entrance, send us a WhatsApp message before Sunday and we will arrange it.
Parking & Directions
We sit inside the Taman Kencana residential complex in Cengkareng rather than on a main road, so expect to slow down a little as you get close. The safest approach is to type GKBJ Taman Kencana into Google Maps or Waze and follow it to the end. Block A1 is inside the complex and the church building is clearly visible from the estate road.
Parking is available around the complex. The 09:30 service is usually the busiest, so arriving 10 to 15 minutes early makes parking far more relaxed. If you are taking a ride-hailing car or motorbike, ask to be dropped right at the church entrance.
Coming from Kalideres, Grogol Petamburan, Kembangan, Kebon Jeruk, or Tangerang? Approximate distances and routes for each area are on our West Jakarta location page.

Children & Teens
Children are welcome to stay beside you in the service — truly, it is not a problem. But if they would rather be with others their own age, these two doors are open every Sunday.
Sunday 09:30
Children's classes run alongside the 09:30 service. Drop your child off before the service starts and collect them from the same place afterwards. On a first visit you are welcome to stay in the room until your child settles.

Our teen service meets at 07:30. If your teenager is visiting for the first time, message us beforehand on WhatsApp and we will ask one of the leaders to meet them at the door so they are not walking in cold.
